Cleaver Brooks is looking for an Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Thomasville, GA. The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial instrumentation to ensure proper functioning within manufacturing or production environments. Tasks include inspecting sensors, transmitters, controllers, and related equipment and diagnosing malfunctions.

Essential functions:
Maintenance and Calibration:
Perform routine maintenance checks, calibrate instruments for accuracy, and replace worn or faulty components.Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnose system malfunctions, identify root causes, and repair or replace defective parts.Data Analysis and Documentation:
Interpret instrument readings and monitor system performance. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, calibration results, repair details, and customer interactions in the Customer Service Management System (CSMS).Compliance and Safety Standards:
Adhere to electrical and mechanical safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure compliance with operational and safety guidelines for all equipment and information systems.Technical Support and Coordination:
Provide technical assistance to end users, colleagues, and management. Serve as a liaison to manufacturers, contractors, and other parties for resolving technical issues.Field Support:
Deploy to field sites for service issues as required. Coordinate with Field Service Technicians and Service Managers for technical inquiries or on-site visits.Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain a problem log for high-level inquiries. Increase technical knowledge through trade publications and training opportunities. Provide documentation and updates to customers as needed. Travel for training and calibration services (up to 60%).Essential Skills and Knowledge:
Technical Expertise: Understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and electronic principles, including various instrumentation types (e.g., pressure transducers, flow meters, temperature sensors, and level gauges).
Troubleshooting and Calibration: Proficiency in diagnosing system issues and using calibration equipment.
Computer Literacy: Knowledge of PC operating systems, Microsoft Office, and computer-based control systems.
Mechanical Aptitude: Proficiency in using hand and power tools to repair and reassemble equipment.
Reading Blueprints and Schematics: Ability to navigate technical drawings and system layouts.
Basic Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma with on-the-job training. College degree, preferredExperience:
Experience in plumbing, HVAC or working with boiler or hot water generating equipment. Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities. Working knowledge of PC operating systems and Microsoft Office.Physical Skill & Effort: Regular physical exertion and precise operation of office equipment.
Working Conditions and Hazards:
Work Hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday – 8 hours regular time (Wednesday, Thursday – off)
Environment: Work occurs in plant, shop, field, or office settings, occasionally involving minor disagreeable features.
Hazards: Must follow safety protocols when working with potentially hazardous systems.
