**JOB SUMMARY**
Impartially provides education about the availability of health insurance plans available to the recipient. Facilitates the enrollment process in the various health coverage programs offered by the HIE department. Provides information in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner to the population being served by the HIE department.
**JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES**
**Education:**
+ Bachelors in Healthcare, Business and /or Behavioral Science or related Degree highly preferred.
+ 5-6 years Health insurance, Medicaid and Social Security Eligibility enrollment experience required.
**Licensure:**
+ Must acquire Indiana and Michigan, Department of Insurance, Accident, Life & Health Insurance (ALH) License within 3 months of employment.
+ Valid Indiana driver license and proof of valid automobile insurance.
**Experience:**
+ Minimum of 1-2years experience in Health Insurance Sales, Medicaid Eligibility, Children’s Health Insurance Program.
+ Knowledge of state and federal aid programs required.
+ Prior on the job training in medical clerical skills helpful.
+ Prior leadership or management skills preferred.
**Other Job Requirements:**
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to handle conflict and confront challenging issues in a fast-paced work environment.
+ Must provide own transportation and be able to travel and work at various locations.
