Insurance and Risk Manager

We are hiring at Valsoft for an experienced and dynamic Insurance and Risk Manager to join our growing Legal team in Canada!

The Insurance and Risk Manager will be responsible for overseeing the administration, implementation, and ongoing management of insurance agreements including D & O, E & O, Cyber Insurance, etc. This role requires strong organizational skills, contract management expertise, and the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external insurance providers and brokers.

What your day will look like:

Manage and oversee all global corporate insurance policies, including policy renewals, claims processing, and compliance monitoring Develop a comprehensive insurance strategy that ensures all Valsoft businesses across the globe have optimal, cost-effective coverage. This includes advising on the appropriate levels of coverage, endorsements, and limits based on local cyber threats and emerging global risks Work closely with internal teams, including Legal, Finance, and Operations, to ensure insurance policies align with corporate objectives Collaborate closely with Valsoft's Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) team to evaluate the insurance programs of target companies across various regions. This includes assessing the adequacy of existing cyber and business insurance policies in different jurisdictions, identifying past cyber incidents, claims, etc. and ensuring proper remediation or disclosure of any potential liabilities Serve as the main point of contact for cyber insurance and other claims, including those occurring internationally. Guide Valsoft's global business units through the cyber insurance claims process, ensuring compliance with regional regulations and achieving timely and favorable outcomes. Take ownership of any in-progress claims, providing expertise in managing ongoing claims with insurers, adjusters, and regional stakeholders Negotiate terms with insurance providers and brokers to secure competitive coverage that meets the company’s needs Maintain accurate records of all insurance agreements, policy documents, and related correspondence Monitor and analyze insurance claims, identifying trends and recommending improvements to risk management strategies Continuously monitor the effectiveness of Valsoft's insurance policies globally, recommending adjustments as necessary. Ensure that all international subsidiaries are well-prepared by regularly assessing new risks and vulnerabilities in each region Provide training and guidance to internal teams on insurance-related matters, including obtaining Certificates of Insurance

About You:

At least a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field 3+ years of experience in corporate insurance management, risk management, or contract administration is essential A strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage types, and claims management is essential Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Experience in dealing with Cybersecurity and understanding IT issues considering an asset Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a significant workload while being self-driven Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders across multiple international business units Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize in a fast-paced, global environment Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential, with additional languages considered an asset Legally authorized to work in Canada
