Quanex is looking for an Insurance Manager to join our team located in Houston, TX.
The Insurance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s insurance programs, including managing policy renewals, coordinating risk assessments, and ensuring adequate coverage for all assets, employees, and operations. Will work with internal departments and external insurance providers to understand and describe the company’s operations and risk mitigations that minimize potential financial losses and support the organization’s risk management objectives. Supports Risk and Insurance department’s other core areas of Enterprise Risk Management and IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance (IT GRC).

Administer the organization's insurance policies, including property, liability, auto, workers' compensation, and other specialized coverages. Lead renewal processes, reviewing policy terms, limits, and deductibles to ensure optimal coverage. Assess insurance needs and work with brokers to review opportunities for optimizing insurance coverages and selecting the right risk financing techniques for the company’s risk appetite. Conduct regular risk assessments and work with various internal and external teams to identify, quantify, and measure potential risks. Collaborate with Risk Management, Finance & Accounting, Employee Health & Safety, Human Resources, Legal, and Operations teams to evaluate and mitigate exposure to ensure all assets are protected. Support Operations and Finance teams in prioritizing projects to mitigate risks based on risk assessment results. Maintain and update company’s risk register and track risk reduction efforts. Supervise and support the Insurance and Risk Analysts in oversee the claims process from filing to resolution, working closely with insurance adjusters, legal teams, and internal departments. Directly manage complex claims in collaboration with legal and external teams. Ensure timely and accurate claims reporting, investigation, and settlement. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements related to insurance and risk management. Implement and maintain insurance and risk related compliance policies and procedures in alignment with legal requirements, contractual obligations, and industry standards. Prepare regular reports for senior management on insurance coverage, claims activity, and emerging risks.Your Credentials:
Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business administration, law, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance management, risk management, or a related role, preferably in a corporate or multi-site environment. Experience with a global manufacturing environment a plus. Professional certification in insurance or risk management (e.g., CPCU, ARM, CRM) preferred.The salary range for this position is $106,000 to $142,500 with bonus potential.
