Insurance Systems Analyst

This position acts as a liaison between Information Systems and the Insurance and Membership business units throughout the Enterprise in the development of new, modified or enhanced systems to support goals, objectives, philosophies, policies and procedures of the Insurance Communications Unit and Customer Communications Management team, as well as support the organization's strategic objectives. In addition, the position develops system requirements, forms design, testing plans, conducts system testing, develops training materials and provides cross-team support. The position acts as an authority on one or more systems serving Insurance and Membership and may lead projects or be a major project contributor.

What You'll Do :

Effectively represent the Customer Communications Management (CCM) team on all phases of Information System projects to ensure successful implementation of new system applications, system enhancements, forms development, document creation/storage/retrieval and other related processes and procedures. Maintain solid knowledge base of Insurance Communications business needs, practices and procedures as they relate to Information Systems across the Enterprise. Serve as the CCM expert on IT projects, including hardware and software and vendor applications. Analyze and evaluate user needs for technical applications and systems solutions. Determine system requirements, system functionality and forms design that provides user efficiencies, increased user productivity, clarity to insureds/members and meets legal, regulatory, etc. requirements.

Conduct User Acceptance testing for all new or enhanced system functionality. Prepare all necessary documents to support testing effort.

Meet with various business units & staff regarding systems maintenance and enhancements. Provide production support to staff in the use of internal and vendor applications. Provide documented details to IS regarding system problems and offer solutions and recommendations. Review systems and reports regularly to ensure proper functioning.

Work in concert with ET&D to ensure accurate, thorough and timely training is provided to staff. Provide guidance and expertise in the development of Computer-Based-Training courses and training materials to support the successful introduction of new or enhanced system functionality.

Coordinate communications regarding changes in business processes or procedures, changes in system functionality or introduction of new system applications, business forms or reports.

Provide management reports for Executives and other business unit management. Create new reports as requested. Participate in business unit planning and other meetings as needed.

Investigate and recommend new methods, procedures and technologies. Apply accepted principles of systems and forms analysis to simplify procedures and determine the most economical alternatives that support  business needs.

Evaluate impact of system change requirements necessitated by legislative and/or regulatory developments. Initiate changes, in coordination with other business units, including Underwriting, Information Systems and Product Management.

What You'll Need :

To have developed detailed user stories, which may include some or all of the following supplemental information: business process flows, data flows, sequence diagrams, and activity diagrams.  

Product management, product development, knowledge of agile framework and/or related experience for enterprise products or programs preferred. 

Eager to work in an environment with changing priorities and objectives. 

Ability to quickly pivot between projects and keep focused on the minimal viable product. 

Experience using JIRA, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. 

Experience converting high-level priorities into product backlog. 

Experience creating acceptance criteria for user stories. 

Experience managing the development/testing/implementation life cycle. 

Experience with Insurance Guidewire products and operations highly desired. 

Experience managing business stakeholders that have competing priorities. 

User-centric /customer-centric focused, embrace Agile practices, and possess a learning mindset. 

Bachelor’s Degree required. 

The starting pay range for this position is:

$76,400.00 - $101,900.00
