**Job Title:** Intake Referral Representative
**Department:** Penn Home Infusion
**Location:** King of Prussia
**Hours/Shift:** M-F, Day shift, one Saturday every 3-4 months
**Summary:** Join our team at Penn Medicine as a Patient Intake and Authorization Coordinator! In this role, you'll be the first point of contact for patient referrals, ensuring a smooth admission process. You'll handle everything from obtaining prior authorizations to verifying insurance and communicating with patients, families, and healthcare providers. Your work will be crucial in providing top-notch care through Penn Home Infusion Therapy.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Coordinate Admissions:** Manage intake and admission activities for patient referrals, ensuring all necessary information is communicated to internal and external customers.
+ **Obtain Authorizations:** Secure initial and ongoing prior authorizations for services, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.
+ **Patient Registration:** Register patients, verify insurance, and check benefits to provide accurate coverage information.
+ **Documentation:** Maintain real-time documentation in Penn's EMR and ensure timely communication among patients, referral sources, and clinicians.
+ **Insurance Processes:** Stay updated on new and changing insurance processes and consistently implement the Authorization Tracking process.
**What You'll Do:**
+ **Financial Qualification:** Assess each referral for financial eligibility, negotiate pricing with payers, and obtain necessary approvals for charity care.
+ **CPR+ System Proficiency:** Master the CPR+ Admission System, including patient data entry, insurance management, and troubleshooting.
+ **Insurance Assistance:** Help patients understand their co-pays, deductibles, and financial obligations, and resolve issues related to limited financial resources.
+ **Ongoing Patient Support:** Review and interpret payer guidelines, investigate alternative payment sources, and ensure accurate documentation for reimbursement.
**Qualifications:**
+ **Education:** High School Diploma or GED required. An Associate's degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
+ **Experience:** At least 2 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, insurance verification, pharmacy technician work, or home infusion.
