Psychologist for CentraCare Integrated Behavioral Health- Headache Clinic

Be part of our Integrated Behavioral Health Team providing outpatient diagnostic assessment, and treatment services for patients and families with behavioral health and/or medical needs in the Headache Clinic. The CentraCare Neurosciences Headache Center is a rapidly expanding program with a focus on comprehensive interdisciplinary patient care, diagnosis, and treatment of all types of headache syndromes.  We recognize the impact of headache and migraine is not a disease state isolated to the individual.  These individuals struggle on multiple facets including career, relationships and friendships, and there is a significant adverse effect on children of headache and migraine patients, including increased rates of anxiety and depression among adolescents.  Our mission is to provide exceptional headache care through tailored, multidisciplinary, and state-of-the art approaches.

Position is 80 hours/pay period. Monday -Friday Work collaboratively with CentraCare’s Headache team as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.  Participate in Biofeedback Biofeedback teaches individuals to control functions of their autonomic (involuntary) nervous system. These functions include heart rate, blood pressure, skin temperature, muscle tension, and brainwave activity. Individuals learn to control these functions by observing monitoring devices and reproducing desired behavior. Relaxation techniques are also used to control these bodily functions. Relaxation techniques include progressive relaxation exercises, yoga, Transcendental Meditation, or simply focusing on an image of quiet, rest, and solitude.  In successfully treating patients with biofeedback, the appropriate method must be selected. Provide diagnostic, psychological, or biopsychosocial evaluation and execute therapeutic treatment toward defined goals. Provide clinical interventions to include individual, marital, couples, family and group therapy & education to adults and children. Responsibilities as a IBH Psychologist in the Headache Clinic include triaging urgent needs from community members and providing intervention in same day crisis situations. May assist in staff development through consultation, education and supervision as well as assist in program development.  The psychologist works to strengthen motivation and commitment to specific change goals through a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication using motivational interviewing and evidence-based psychotherapy. 

 

Position Qualifications:

PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology Required Completion of post-doc training year is preferred . Successful candidates will have training, experience, and interest in outpatient psychotherapy and psychological testing. Biofeedback experience is preferred  Licensure by the State of Minnesota Board of Psychology must be obtained within 18 months of employment.   Licensure at the time of employment is preferred. Successful compliance with Minnesota Law, Chapter 372 relating to sexual exploitation of patients by staff providing psychotherapy services.


PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related Human Services field required. Minimum of one-year experience is required. State of Minnesota licensure required, need to have one of the following:    Licensed Psychologist (LP) with the MN Board of Psychology or  Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with the MN Board of Social Work or  Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with the MN Board of Marriage & Family Therapy or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with the MN Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy.
