Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, The Integrated Product Unit Manager (IPU) ensures efficient and cost-effective production results that meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level). The role encompasses planning and fulfillment, assembly, packaging and test for both in-house production and contract manufacturing.The work model for the role is onsite (#LI-Onsite) in Richmond, VA manufacturing facility.You will be mainly accountable for:- Preparing annual production, overseeing progress, and determining actions to cost issues as necessary in order to manage operations within the budget and resources, and deliver products on time to meet customer needs.- Developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.- Executing and developing the plans to reduce non-value-added costs, increase revenues, and delight customers by delivering products on time with high factory and supplier yields and decreasing product field failure rates.- Overseeing the creation of manufacturing subcontracts and manages the subcontractor jointly with other involved disciplines, including Supply Chain Management (e.g., subcontract employees are provided guidance on health and safety requirements and work practices, and issued permits to work).Our team dynamicsYou will lead a diverse, talented team (with direct + indirect totals reaching around 50 employees, managers, and supervisors), where you will be able to make a meaningful impact on the growing Electrification Smart Power business.
Qualifications for the roleBachelor’s Degree required, Engineering / Supply Chain preferred, other relevant degrees also considered10 years of relevant experience with demonstrated leadership of production teams and fulfillment teams, Materials Management Experience, and/or Master Scheduling Experience.Demonstrated leadership of production teams and fulfillment teamsIndustry experience/ Experience with electrical equipment manufacturing (UPS, STS, PDU, SWBD, LV SWGR, MV SWGR) strongly preferredSAP Experience requiredLeadership / People skillsCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
