The Accounting Operations (AO) team is looking for a highly motivated individual who will join the team as Group Accounting Manager , this individual plays a pivotal role in leading and managing accounting and financial processes within the organization. This position requires an individual with extensive experience in accounting knowledge , a strong understanding of statutory regulations, and proven managerial skills. The Senior Accounting Manager will lead a team to oversee complex financial statement preparation, ensure regulatory compliance, manage vendor governance and process-improvement efforts, The Accounting Operations team collaborates across Finance and other stakeholders to manage the record-to-report function for many of Microsoft's core business groups, ensuring timely and compliant close and financial reporting. We also develop automated solutions with built-in compliance and security by design, leading in AI implementation. In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day. **Responsibilities** **Responsibilities:** + Accounting Systems: Oversee the development, implementation, and management of accounting systems ,ensure processes and procedures capture, track, and report accounting transactions accurately. Partner with business units for end-to-end processing, payments, accounting, and finance controls. Drive ROI decisions, Cost to Service and efficiency improvements. Meet key performance indicators and communicate results to stakeholders. + Accounting Execution: Set objectives and procedures, lead complex record reviews, interpret reports for stakeholders, and provide troubleshooting support. Resolve inquiries, data anomalies, and conduct complex analysis based on data trends. Devise creative solutions for team challenges. + Accounting Policies: Research industry accounting trends and stay updated with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Address complex global business partner inquiries aligned with accounting policies. Solve technical problems and propose updated policies for leadership review. + Financial Statement Disclosure: Prepare and review complex financial statements , applying extensive knowledge of statutory regulations and compliance requirements . Partner with auditors, implement accounting rules, and ensure regulatory compliance. Leverage technology for process efficiency and collaborate with senior management for vendor selection. Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure compliance with service level agreements while solving problems and navigating complex regulatory environments. + Enablement/Process Improvement: Lead process-improvement initiatives by soliciting feedback, redesigning workflows, and partnering with software engineers to enhance systems. Identify and leverage technology for process automation and efficiency. Drive gap remediation by designing appropriate controls and articulating risks to leadership. + Vendor Governance: Serve as an escalation point for complex vendor issues. Where required govern multiple vendor teams using metrics and service level agreements. Ensure policy adherence, accuracy, compliance, and risk management. Resolve issues with senior leaders and business partners, manage cross-group planning, and act as a trusted advisor. + People Management: Lead with empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring. Attract and retain talent, recognize individual capabilities and aspirations, and invest in others' growth. + Leverage and build broader networks to foster strong relationships that support execution across the business. Communicate key goals, priorities, and definitions effectively, and participate in providing perspective on various topics, including communications, budgets, and team pulse. Inform tactical and strategic business decisions for leadership and support the landing of organizational changes. **Qualifications** **Job Qualifications : Profile & Skills Desired** + A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field with at least 7 years of accounting or finance experience along with a least 3 years of people management experience . Equivalent experience is also considered + A professional accounting certification such as CPA(Certified Public Accountant) , ACCA, CIMA, ACA or an equivalent certification is preferred. + Strong technical skills in accounting and finance, including proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. A deep understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements is essential + The ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. This includes the ability to define, diagnose, and determine an appropriate resolution, recommendation, or decision while considering alternatives and factors (e.g., resources, costs, tradeoffs). Additional Preferred Skills + Proficiency in Methodologies: Demonstrated expertise in methodologies such as Six Sigma, LEAN, Agile Certification, Business Process Management, Project Management Certification, and/or Change Management Certification. **Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
