Job Profile Summary
Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) and mentor to assessment developers (ADs), functioning as a senior assessment developer while leading the integration of innovative features and practices. This role ensures the timely and effective incorporation of emerging assessment methodologies and technologies into assessment design and development. Is the primary point of contact for "how-to" inquiries and is responsible for documenting and disseminating best practices. This role also plays a key leadership position in exploring, innovating, and establishing best practices in the Generative AI space and relevant technologies to enhance assessment development.
This role is critical in bridging the gap between assessment development expertise and the adoption of cutting-edge assessment methodologies, ensuring assessment developers are well-equipped to create reliable, valid, authentic, and innovative assessments.
Location: This position requires you to live in Utah and work at our headquarters: 4001 South 700 East Salt Lake City, UT 84107, with the ability to work a hybrid schedule in the office 4 days a week with one day remote.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Serves as the primary SME for assessment developers, providing guidance and expertise in assessment design and development.Leads the integration of innovative assessment methodologies into assessment development.Ensures the timely implementation of new assessment strategies and tools, monitoring their effectiveness and impact.Acts as the primary point of contact for assessment developers and stakeholders on best practices and "how-to" inquiries related to assessment design and development.Mentors new assessment developers, providing training and development opportunities to scale resources, including contractors.Leads the exploration and implementation of emerging technologies, such as Generative AI, in assessment development, documenting best practices and innovation strategies.Develops and maintains best practice documentation for assessment development roles, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across the team.Collaborates with internal stakeholders to enhance assessment strategies and maintain quality standards.Identifies and aligns assessment methodologies with course and program objectives, ensuring quality and relevance.Contributes to the assessment development process by providing expertise and insights, ensuring alignment with WGU’s mission and academic quality standards.Leads cross-functional projects, recommending and implementing process improvements to enhance assessment development effectiveness.Provides training sessions, workshops, and resources to assessment developers and related roles to enhance professional development.Serves as the primary point of contact for contractor coordination, including approving hours and tracking timelines to ensure smooth execution of assessment development projects.Performs other related duties as assigned.This job description includes a general representation of job requirements rather than a comprehensive inventory of all required responsibilities or work activities.
