INTEGRATION & TEST SPECIALIST (COMPOSITES ASSEMBLY & INTEGRATION) Welcome to the top of the rocket, the reason why we fly! The Falcon Payload Integration & Test team tackles space exploration’s toughest problems, developing novel ways to fly every payload that our customers can conceive. Leveraging our reusable launch vehicles, Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy, we support customers that include commercial, national security, NASA, and rideshare satellites, as well as our own SpaceX-developed Starlink satellites. SpaceX is currently seeking a talented individual for a critical Integration & Test Specialist role to facilitate and execute payload adaptor integration and testing across various facilities. This team member will be responsible for managing schedules, assets, and procedures, as well as physically installing and testing various structural/electrical/propulsion systems to validate reliable satellite deployment systems that send our payloads into LEO, GTO and beyond. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Process Falcon flight hardware in the pursuit of safe, rapid, and reliable integration and launch + Develop tools, hardware, and procedures to efficiently assembly, integrate, and test various systems + Design, develop, and operate various data acquisition or other electrical systems + Maintain clear communication and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled engineers, mission managers, and technicians to execute operations across various cleanroom facilities (both internationally and domestic) + Identify high-risk processes ahead of flight hardware processing, and proactively implement procedural improvements to ensure operational excellence + Collaborate with engineering to identify and resolve hardware non-conformances BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: + High school diploma or equivalency certificate + Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or STEM discipline or 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment + 1+ years of experience creating and/or working with manufacturing design, build, integration or test PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + 5+ years of professional experience designing, building, integrating, and testing complex multi-disciplinary systems + Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: launch vehicle or spacecraft integration, composite structure design or testing; test operations with gases/fluids, data acquisition setup, and field measurements + Demonstrates technical intuition, critical thinking, and comfort with ambiguity + Documentation and configuration management experience + Experience writing test plans, procedures and providing go/no-go judgment and rationale + Experience interacting with CAD software and basic analysis programs + Professional experience testing and operating with or around hazardous systems (high pressure, high energy, hazardous gases/fluids, etc.) + Professional experience working with large assembly moves (e.g. crane operations) + Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with a wide range of people + Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: + Some travel to our launch sites or customer facilities (both internationally and domestic) will be required as needed, up to 40% annually + Specialist’s travel schedule must be flexible as mission schedules fluctuate frequently + Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg + Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed + This position is very hands-on and will often work side by side with our technicians + Must be comfortable with standing, stooping, bending and working in tight areas with little room COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: Integration & Test Specialist/Level 1: $30.00 - $38.00/hour Integration & Test Specialist/Level 2: $34.00 - $43.00/hour Integration & Test Specialist/Level 3: $38.00 - $48.00/hour Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
