At GFBFS, we lead the industry with innovative solutions and strive to protect our intellectual property through strategic patenting, trademark management, and competitor monitoring. We are seeking a dedicated Intellectual Property (IP) Specialist to join our dynamic team and contribute to developing and innovative and industry-leading IP process.

What will you do:

Coordination and Process Management:

Coordinate and manage the IP process inside GF BFS, including invention disclosure and participation in the patent working group.Collaborate with the GF IP Unit to ensure seamless IP operations.Engage with R&D leadership and be part of the decision making process.Develop and manage a dashboard/monitoring solution for relevant IP activities.Ensure compliance with internal IP guidelines.Manage and approve IP processes and policies within the division.

Support early stage innovation process:

Administer inventor renumeration and provide support in the process.Ensure efficient and effective IP management to foster innovation.Actively work within prototype projects, assessing them from an IP perspective.Enable early IP research and integrate advanced tools into the IP process.Build a strong patent portfolio to protect our business from competition.Foster the amount of IP filings by supporting the development teams in identifying possible areas for IP protection.

Budget Management:              

Avoid unnecessary patents by conducting cost-benefit analyses.Critically evaluate IP proposals to ensure alignment with strategic goals.Oversee budget management, auditing and approval processes related to IP activities.

Support and Administration:

Be the link between GFBS and the corporate GF IP Unit. Oversee and coordinate the information flow.Provide support in legal matters, trademarks, regional application selection, and IP research preparation.Monitor and manage competitors, violations and prolongations of IP rights

What will you need:

Fluent in English and German (C1 - C2) with strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex IP concepts effectively.A minimum of 5 years experience in a Manufacturing/Product Development environment: Understands development processes and has experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.Familiar with IP processes, preferably with expertise in IP applications.Critical Thinker: Able to critically observe, adjust existing structures, and drive a modern interpretation of IP activities.Stakeholder Management: Must thrive in a role that involves strong stakeholder interactions and exhibit "fire and passion" to drive initiatives forward.
