Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intelligent Controls and Automation Engineer to join our site engineering team! This role is pivotal in running and advancing our control systems, focusing on Siemens and Rockwell automation platforms. The successful candidate will be based in Alexandria, Louisiana, with a requirement to be working at the Alexandria Plant facility and occasional travel for vendor acceptance testing and project support.
As the Intelligent Controls and Automation Engineer you will:
+ Provide technical leadership in supporting the OU core business and initiative delivery.
+ Act as a key enabler in leading and delivering results against challenges.
+ Be an integral part of completing projects for the category by using new advanced controls, robotics, information systems and Cyber Security technologies.
Job Qualifications
Required
+ Bachelor or Master's degree in and Engineering
+ Ability to travel 10%-25% of the time
+ Willing to relocate throughout the career
+ 5+ years of experience
Key Responsibilities
+ Design, develop, and implement control systems for molding, assembly, and packaging equipment.
+ Handle electrical schematics, programming, and safety validation plans.
+ Lead the design and architecture of control systems, ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, ISO standards.
+ Troubleshoot and debug control systems, providing technical support for commissioning efforts.
+ Participate in daily direction setting meetings, department meetings, and platform-specific meetings.
+ Communicate effectively with technical representatives and broader teams to ensure project alignment and progress.
+ Support obsolescence management and update existing control systems as needed.
