Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking an **Intelligent Transportation Systems/Technology Intern** to be based in **Minneapolis, MN** . _This position is expected to begin in May 2025._ **The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:** The Technology/Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Intern will be responsible for supporting technology-related projects that involve connected and automated vehicles, ITS systems, data management and analysis, electrification, and other emerging transportation technology. Additionally, there will be opportunities to work on arterial traffic management systems, transit technology applications, transportation planning and traffic engineering. Join a team of experienced innovative experts to develop and apply new and emerging technology solutions to transportation. The position provides an opportunity for students who have completed some qualified study to start with an internship to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Support ITS design and planning projects, systems engineering analysis and traffic engineering tasks + Work on a wide range of projects and tasks and assist with field research, evaluations, data collection, data analysis, calculations, graphics, maps and data presentation, and report development + Prepare technical reports and memorandums, provide project meeting support, and perform other duties as required + Work under the supervision of a project manager or a member of the project team + Efficiently manage multiple tasks and responsibilities + Good communication skills and team spirit + Work in a collaborative fast-paced team environment **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree Transportation Engineering or Transportation Planning and must have completed at least two years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Strong written and oral communications skills + Ability to work in a collaborative team setting + Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint + Basic Experience in demographic and economic analysis + Some familiarity with Geographic Information Systems + Basic understanding of transportation engineering principles **Additional Information** + Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
