Job Details Intensivist Responsibilities: Managing and providing clinical care to a standard which, at least, is commensurate with that of the medical community of the State of New York, to patients assigned to the Intensive Care Unit and Intermediate Care Unit. Serve as the lead physician responsible for coordinated care of all primary and consulting physicians in patients with respiratory failure, cardiovascular collapse, shock, multi-organ failure, or with substantial risk of clinical decompensation. Communicate with appropriate family members in person and by telephone, as necessary. Perform and/or interpret, as well as monitor the appropriate use of, pertinent diagnostic/therapeutic modalities consistent with hospital policy and generally accepted standards of care in intensive care and step down settings. Perform critical care consultations upon request from other attending physicians, Hospital employed physicians, or mid-level practitioners. Provide direct supervision, teaching and assistance during procedures performed by Advanced Practice Professionals. At the beginning and end of each shift, participate in hand-off communications with hospital-based and private intensivists. Serve, as requested by the Hospital, as part of the Rapid Response Team at the Hospital for purposes of evaluating and initiating treatments for any and all patients in any patient care unit at the Hospital with real or potential medical emergencies. Perform patient care rounds with members of the nursing and ancillary staffs at least once during each of the Night Shift and Day Shift. Be courteous, respectful and cooperative in interacting with any qualified requesting party and at all times abide by the Hospital's codes of behavior. Intensivist Qualifications: Doctorate degree in Medicine. Trained in critical care medicine. Board Certified or Eligible within 3 years. Teaching ability. ACLS certified. Specialist licensure/certification may be required as specified by the department. Salary Range Starting from USD $215.00/Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
