Job Summary:
Westat is seeking an intern to join our internal Interaction Design Studio that provides front-end design and development solutions for digital products, websites, and applications. In this role, you will assist in organizing and expanding the Westat Design System in Figma. The duration of the internship is June 2, 2025, through August 15, 2025, working 40 hours/week.
This position has a hybrid work arrangement with 1-2 day(s) working onsite at a Westat office location.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work on tasks assigned by IxD Manager.
• Create design system components in Figma for the Westat Design System.
• Organize the Westat Design System in Figma.
• Share updates to design system with the Interaction Design team.
• Attend project and team meetings.
Basic Qualifications:
• Students must be enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor's degree program or equivalent education and experience.
• Familiarity with design applications
• Familiarity with Adobe Suite applications
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS
Preferred Qualifications:
• Background in Web and Graphic Design with focus on User Interface design
and User Experience.
• Familiarity with Figma.
• Familiarity with MS suite (Word).
Other Required Qualifications:
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients.
• Organization skills, including time management ability.
• Detail oriented.
