Function:

As Interactive Designer, Digital Products, you create digital experiences on websites, apps and a range of other digital platforms. You apply your expertise in interactivity, ergonomics and design to optimally create the user experience. Early in the development process, you think through and design the general structure, architecture and consistency of navigation, with a focus on usability. You translate those functional specifications visually by assembling graphics that are logically arranged in a predetermined pattern via an intuitive interface to achieve the desired interactive goals. Bringing strong editorial and artistic sensibility, you create digital products that are intuitive and innovative.

Description of duties:

Analyze the nature of projects to identify needs and objectives, allowing you to get an overview of potential issues (content, technology, etc.).

Assess desired functions and behaviours so as to optimize the user experience.

Develop the tree structure and define the architecture (ergonomics, navigation, interactions, segues, etc.).

Storyboard and organize information.

Weigh platform-specific technological constraints and find tailored solutions.

Direct the various presentation stages using comprehensive mock-ups supported by constructive arguments.

Act as a guide and adviser to recommend proposals that factor in the analysis, needs and issues.

Create user tests to confirm design hypotheses and plan research activities with the User Experience Research team.

Actively participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions.

Be flexible and adaptable in finding solutions and resolving issues that arise.

Determine and guide visual interfaces (style sheets, colour charts, typography, visual signatures, layout, data visualizations) in order to convey news content effectively and consistently for a given digital product.

Suggest simple, consistent terminology for labels and headings to guide user experience storytelling.

Effectively communicate the desired behaviours, both verbally and in writing, via a clear, precise functional analysis.

Prepare files and folders in an optimal manner so that they are easily understood by everyone working on the project.

Supervise quality control in all phases prior to go-live, as well as during the project’s active life.

Adhere to deadlines and the various production milestones that affect teams working on the same project.

Be able to produce feasibility and effort estimates.

Conduct research and market intelligence on a periodic and systematic basis, depending on the project, with an eye to identifying new web trends and market best practices (accessibility, SEO, ecodesign, etc.).

Constantly keep up with the latest technological innovations (data security, AI, etc.) and new tools on the market.

Carry out, as needed, all or part of the duties of another job classification within an equivalent or lower salary group, as well as other related duties.

Required skills:
