Interdisciplinary Studies Divisional (IT Senior Associate, Level 2) **GENERAL DUTIES** I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group. I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. The full specification is available on our web site at http://www.cuny.edu/about/administration/offices/ohrm/hros/classification/ccsjobs.html **CONTRACT TITLE** IT Senior Associate **FLSA** Exempt **CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION** The City College of New York (CCNY) is the founding institution of the City University of New York (CUNY) and is comprised of outstanding programs in architecture, engineering, medicine, and the liberal arts and sciences annually, serving over 16,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Leading CUNY in funded research, CCNY hosts several research centers, including two new advanced research centers. CCNY's Office of Information Technology (OIT) is a vital component of the college's operation and is responsible for software applications, hardware support, telecommunications, media services, network infrastructure, instructional technologies, and information security. The OIT is committed to collaborating with the college community to provide excellent information technology products and services. Under the guidance of the OIT Director of Frontline User Support Services, the Interdisciplinary Studies IT Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the faculty, staff, students, and clients of the CCNY Division of Interdisciplinary Studies. This role will involve managing the day-to-day IT operations of its desktop computing environment, providing IT support to the Interdisciplinary Studies' faculty, staff, and student organizations, including the Center for Worker Education (located at 25 Broadway), Continuing and Professional Studies, Study Abroad program, and the Rangel Infrastructure Workforce Development Initiative. Working in close consultation with the Dean's office, OIT Directors, and administrative and instructional staff, the Interdisciplinary Studies IT Manager ensures cohesion between the Interdisciplinary Studies and college-wide IT initiatives, procedures, and protocols. This collaborative approach involves working with other OIT professionals, including systems administrators, network administrators, help desk analysts, security administrators, and third-party vendors, to ensure the best IT support and services for the Interdisciplinary Studies Division. The successful candidate will be expected to: + Supervise and provide professional development for a team of technicians to provide high­ quality customer service to Interdisciplinary Studies students, faculty, and staff. + In collaboration with other IT Managers and Systems Administrators, ensure IT devices are managed and maintained in compliance with the College's IT standards. + Maintain desktop computing infrastructure and support computer labs, including hardware support, access controls, inventory, software distribution, data storage, and IT security measures. + Collaborate with administrative staff, faculty, students, and researchers to evaluate and orchestrate IT projects from inception through implementation to ensure timely and effective completion. + Provide troubleshooting support for IT, network, audiovisual, and information security issues; facilitate in-house resolutions where possible and consult with OIT IT analysts for additional support when necessary. + In consultation with faculty, configure, manage, maintain, and decommission hardware and software, including but not limited to desktop, printers, lab, server, and classroom technology. + Administer data protection measures to ensure high availability and robust and reliable backup of critical systems. + Plan, analyze, and maintain IT system upgrades, including contingency and capacity planning and quality assurance. + Maintain and enforce IT security measures, in conjunction with the Office of Information Security and other OIT departments, by continuously evaluating and enacting proactive security measures and responding to IT security incidents. + Utilize metrics of user service incidents and service requests, collaborating as necessary to address patterns and trends that compromise service and efficiency. + Maintain metrics and documentation of availability, performance, capacity, and utilization of IT resources, including servers, workstations, and printers; forecast future IT demands. + Liaise with other CCNY OIT teams, technology vendors, and other stakeholders to integrate college-approved IT projects and support University-wide IT initiatives. + Prepare and deliver reports concerning overall plans, activities, and performance levels of deployed resources. + In collaboration with administrative staff and systems administrators, generate security compliance audits and reports documenting security risks and recommendations. + Perform other duties as assigned. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** 1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent 2. An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position 3. Demonstrated English Language proficiency 4. A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions. This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required. **OTHER QUALIFICATIONS** **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience supervising teams of technical staff + Experience troubleshooting and resolving IT workstations and servers, telecommunication, audiovisual technology, printing solutions, and mobile device software, hardware, and network issues + Experience managing Microsoft, Apple, and Linux environments and projects + Experience configuring, operating, calibrating, and maintaining printers and large-format plotters + Experience maintaining and securing enterprise IT technologies including virtual infrastructure, storage solutions, and directory services + Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail **COMPENSATION** Salary: $111,013 CUNY's benefits contribute significantly to total compensation, supporting health and wellness, financial well-being, and professional development.
