Job Description: Interfaces & Conversions Manager

Summary
The Interface & Conversions Manager is the project manager who oversees implementation and live support for interfaces. This role defines scope and implemention of interfaces, including tracking statuses and critical risks that need to be resolved. Serves as main coordinator for nonâ€Epic technical resources for interface projects, such as thirdâ€party vendor representatives, interface engine developers, and thirdâ€party consultants and service providers contracted to build or support interfaces. Ensures active monitoring of the health of live interfaces, coordinates with application teams to quickly resolve production errors, evaluates technical feasibility and prioritization for ongoing optimization projects, and partners with other teams to implement approved new features and interfaces.
Professional Responsibilities:
Maintaining the scope, schedule, and quality of the overall interface project. Establishing a relationship and process between thirdâ€party interface engine lead and interface analysts. Setting clear expectations for interface analysts, including defining the team’s processes and outlining key tasks and success factors through each phase of any project. Working closely with the project director and application managers to coordinate crossâ€team dependences, allâ€team project activities and management of escalations. Coordinating interface requirements and tasks with operational stakeholders, thirdâ€party vendors, and thirdâ€party system administrators. Advising and coaching team members by providing guidance on project issues, sharing lessons learned, and applying critical thinking to identify risks and execute mitigation plans. Holding interface analysts accountable for following processes, completing interim milestones, and meeting deadlines. Guiding interface design and build, testing the system, and analyzing other issues associated with Bridges interfaces. Working with Epic (Wisconsin)representatives, interface engine developers, thirdâ€party representatives, your organization's community partners, and operational stakeholders to ensure the system meets your organization's business requirements. Managing escalations and acting as final decision maker for interface team decisions . Reviewing the status of active projects and issues on an ongoing basis with project leadership. Holding weekly meetings with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, endâ€user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones. Interpreting and assessing issue impact and setting priority of issue resolution within the team.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to oversee many concurrent interface workstreams (often tens to hundreds of endâ€toâ€end interfaces), including simultaneously managing live interfaces and additional active projects. Ability to understand business requirements and their impact on technical solutions. Strong problemâ€solving skills with respect to project management challenges. Ability to work in a complex environment to manage multiple concurrent communication needs, including executiveâ€level communication. Skill at tracking tasks, defining next steps, identifying owners, and holding others accountable. Ability to coordinate activities and facilitate meetings involving multiple stakeholders, including third†party vendors, operational stakeholders, interface engine developers, and end users, to design, configure, and test interfaces. Familiarity with HL7 and other message standards and your thirdâ€party interface engine is valuable.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an analytical or data driven discipline. Two years experience interfacing third party healthcare applications and managing personnel, preferred. Programming knowledge of SQL and HL7 protocols. Programming and operational experience with interface engines such as Cloverleaf or Corepoint. Complete assigned EPIC (WISCONSIN) Certification(s) and/or training within 90 days of employment.
