Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY:This position develops finalized specifications standards and construction documents using architectural base plan for execution of new company stores and remodel projects. The role is responsible for the design and execution of projects from project kick off to the completion of the project implementation. This position focuses on 1-3 areas of specialization within the design field (lighting/electrical, fixtures, graphics, building materials, etc.) in order to provide design team with current industry standards and design trends; and cost effectiveness for the Company’s store builds and remodels.
Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops store drawings as assigned based on Scope of Work for individual project and the company standards as well as performing drawing checks for standards adherence, quality and accuracy implementing corrections and revisions as necessary.
• Applies project and time management practices amid competing priorities and requests to assure timely completion of required tasks; may include external parties as directed.
• Performs duties related to on-site visual display set for new, remodeled or updated La-Z-Boy stores (Retail and Dealer) in preparation for Grand Opening (re-opening).
• Ensures proper project close out, identifying compliance with standards or corrective action needed.
• Conducts research, develop detailed drawings, estimate costs and identify potential suppliers related to updating or creating new store design elements, graphics, fixtures and building materials as required.
• Performs duties related to on-site visual display set for the company’s showrooms in preparation for shows (market, etc.); may be responsible for leading visual team to assure that all deliverables meet expectations within time parameters specified; performs issue resolution and escalation as necessary.
• Conducts research and executes standards development pertaining to an area(s) of specialization in alignment with current prototype(s) and store concepts
• Participates as directed in the development of new store concepts and displays (based on project scope) as well as special programs designed to support the consumer experience and maximize productivity within existing stores
• Supports the Merchandising vision by following space utilization standards for stores.
SCOPE & IMPACT:
Provides key project deliverables to relevant internal and external parties related to the Scope of Work for each project, which includes new and renovated Retail and Dealer stores. The results of projects may have impact on project cost requiring keen detail to project details due to the financial implications of missed sales to both dealers and the company if deadlines are missed, errors made. Completion thereof supports company and dealer growth and sales initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• Current knowledge of key materials, trends and supplies
• AutoCAD
• Project Management Experience or /certification
• Travel: Up to 25%

• NCIDQ
• Microsoft Project
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
ONSITE REQUIREMENT: 3 Days of 1 week a month onsite.

Often required to sit, repetitive hand motion (such as typing), to hear, listen, talk, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb stairs, climb ladders, kneel, squat, crouch, balance, reach overhead, pull, push or Lift up to 30 pounds . Not required to crawl or shovel.
