Interior Designer III
**9517BR** **Position Title:** Interior Designer III **Organization:** FMS Planning & Design Services **Job Responsibilities:** + Interior Design Services + Works as an FMS Planning & Design (P&D) lead on part of a team led by the FMS Construction Project Manager and interface with RIT customer. + Provides consultation and technical expertise to Project Managers and University personnel, outside vendors and contractors regarding space planning. + Manages design process for projects from conceptual design through commissioning and close out. + Meets with project requestors to develop design scope, procures design services, develops fee proposals for internally produced design, produces drawings, reviews and markups of drawings, coordinates with subconsultants, attends project meetings and site inspections, and coordinates and schedules installation of various furnishings and equipment with RIT stakeholders such as, but not limited to, engineering, public safety, ITS, EHS, etc. + General Design Support + Review and input of finish and furniture specification for all projects. + Primary point of contact for all finish and furniture questions from FMS Construction Project Managers, FMS Planning & Design, and RIT Customers. + Development of furniture budgets for all phases of design. + Coordinate vendor selection and bid process in conjunction with FMS Construction Project Managers and RIT Procurement Services. + Move management – manage and/or support FMS Project Managers in coordinating relocation of RIT personnel when space assignments are changed including furniture, equipment and ITS issues. + Furniture and Finishes Management + Establish and maintain furniture & finish standards for the university with input from the FMS Planning & Design, FMS Building Services, FMS Events and other departments as well as RIT Customers. + Periodic evaluation of furniture vendor term agreements in conjunction with RIT Procurement Services. + Advise RIT Customers regarding interior design and finish issues for campus renovation questions and projects. + Maintain FMS Planning & Design library to ensure that product literature and samples are pertinent and current. + Design drawing and documentation production for all phases of design process in support of FMS Planning & Design team members. + Provide project specific oversight for FMS Planning & Design student employees/coops. + Additional duties as assigned. **FLSA Category:** Exempt **Requisition Number:** 9517BR **College/Division:** Finance & Administration **Required Application Documents:** Cover Letter, Curriculum Vitae or Resume **Employment Category:** Fulltime **Additional Details:** In compliance with NYS's Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is listed above.
