Interior Gardener

Under the guidance of the Floral and Interior Plant Garden Supervisor, the Interior Gardener is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all indoor plants. The Interior Gardener replicates outdoor green spaces, indoors, to offer peace, beauty and appreciation for guests’ enjoyment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Performs interior plant maintenance which may include: cleaning, installing, fertilizing, pruning, pinching, trimming, dead-heading, and replacement.  Monitors plant nutrition and IPM, and uses proper control methods.  Waters interior plants according to their requirements.  Installs and maintains proper mechanics in interior planters.

2. Visually inspects area daily to ensure condition of interior landscape to ensure it meets appearance standards. Removes and disposes of litter found in planters during daily inspections. Maintains cleanliness and order in all public and common work areas.  Inspects work area to identify potential safety hazards.  Follows all enterprise and Department safety policies as well as all job-specific policies and procedures.

3. Works various special projects, and seasonal change- outs throughout property.

4. Completes inventory and submits plant and supply orders.  Receives and inspects all plants as they are delivered.

5. Uses a variety of manual hand tools and equipment to complete tasks.  Ensures proper care and safe use of equipment and supplies, and report lost or damaged equipment/ tools.

6. Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient operation of Department.

Education/Experience/Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum two (2) years of interior landscape or gardening experience. Knowledge of plant nutrition requirements for various interior plants. Knowledge of environmental requirements for various interior plants. Must be able to follow safety guidelines when using required chemicals, equipment, tools, and techniques while performing job duties. Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. A qualified candidate/employee must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the enterprise’s insurance carrier.
