About Our Client: Our client is a sub-contractor for industrial, commercial and institutional drywall, ceiling and acoustic systems.
Position Scope: The Demountable Partitions & Interior Glazing Division Manager will be responsible for starting up the company’s new glazing division. They will need to build and grow the glazing side of the business from the ground up. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the glazing division, including estimating, project management, business development, team leadership, and client relations. This role requires a deep understanding of glazing systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive division growth and profitability.
Responsibilities:
Division Leadership
Develop and implement strategic plans for the glazing division. Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Hire, lead and mentor a team of glazing professionals, including project managers, estimators, and field staff.
Estimating
Estimate glazing projects for current customers. Coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project specifications and design intent is met. Assist clients with value engineering and design assist.
Project Management
Manage multiple glazing projects from inception to completion. Coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project specifications and timelines are met. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the glazing division. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry partners. Prepare and present proposals, bids, and contracts for glazing projects.
Financial Management
Prepare and manage division budgets, ensuring financial targets are met. Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
Quality and Safety
Ensure all glazing projects adhere to company standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Conduct quality control inspections and resolve any issues or deficiencies.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of glazing systems, materials, and installation methods. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Proficient in project management software and MS Office suite. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Detailed individual who demonstrates a high degree of accuracy. Basic math skills. Strong time management and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to handle a variety of tasks. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to offer solutions and suggestions. Customer service focused individual.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the glazing industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Experience with growing a profitable division from scratch is a huge asset. Proven track record of successfully managing glazing projects from start to finish. Experience working with demountable products is a strong asset. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
