We’re seeking highly motivated Software Architects to lead the development of innovative interior sensing technology designed to enhance the safety and comfort of the vehicle cabin. Interior sensing is a new and rapidly growing area that provides life-saving products such as driver drowsiness/attention monitoring, seat belt recognition, and left-behind child detection, as well as convenience features such as gesture recognition. In this role you will bring the product vision for the next generation of interior sensing innovations to reality by working as part of a global engineering team to define how the software components interact with each other.
Roles and Responsibilities
Analyze internal & external customer requirements to come up software approach to achieve project goals. Apply lessons learned from previous projects as well as best practices from outside the automotive industry
Own the process to decompose system requirements into software requirements
Design software architectures for driver and cabin monitoring products across various platforms like Linux and QNX
Ensure the creation of software design documentation from architectural design by partnering with stakeholders like system engineers and software developers
Participate in software architecture and software design reviews
Participate in competency design, customer design reviews and deep dive discussions for any challenges faced in design/issues
Develop reuse strategy for the product/project
Support product strategy and roadmap development
Technical interface to customer and various internal departments
Innovating thinking, motivated to bring in own ideas, keen to work on latest technologies
Work closely with counterparts across sites in meeting program deliverables on time with quality
Support presentations and demonstrations to customers and other stakeholders
Be passionate about creating and understanding new technologies and inspire others to do the same
Experience / Skill Requirements:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering, computer science, physics, or related field of study)
7+ years of experience writing software using C, C++ and/or Python
5+ years of experience working in an Agile development team
Familiarity with software development processes (CI/CD, Automotive SPICE) and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Polarion, GIT, etc.)
Excellent C, C++, and Python programming skills
Good knowledge in designing software for memory & CPU constrained systems.
Experience in UML (Enterprise architect) & Agile
Highly self-motivated and energetic
Good negotiation and influencing skills – demonstrates ability to respond to changes in requirements, scheduling
Good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal skills with an effective communication and presentation ability. English language proficiency is a must.
Excited about and willing to work as part of a global engineering team
Highly self-motivated and energetic
Ability to learn and adapt new technologies, passion for continuous improvement
Desired skills:
Master’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering, computer science, physics, or related field of study)
Experience developing driver monitoring and cabin monitoring systems
2+ years of experience working with distributed systems communicating over messaging systems such as MQTT, TCP/IP, or UDP
A user-centric mindset to technology development
Experience with machine learning, computer vision, image processing, and cameras
Familiarity with micro service architectures and cloud-based computing
Skilled in using DOORS, Polarian [preferable] or any other requirement management system
