Your role on our team: 

The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for assisting with and overseeing the routine accounting operations of the Minto Communities Canada accounting team. This role will also provide support to the Accounting Managers in special transactions and ad hoc requests.

 

In this role, you will:

Preparation of monthly, quarterly and YE journal entries in New Star Enterprise ERP system, including but not limited to recurring, reclassifications, accruals, expenses, COS allocations etc. Month-end and YE review and cleanup of GL accounts including intercompany for assigned entities Preparation of monthly Inventory, Revenue, Deposits, Restricted Cash, Related Party, COS and other reconciliations Review and approve journal entries for home closings prepared by Junior Accountants Cost of Sales processing and validation Preparation of journal entries and inputs, and review BS, IS and leadsheets for financial reporting in One Stream Consolidation tool Communicate with the business groups regarding coding requests, accruals, expenses and others Assist Accounting Managers with ad hoc requests for special accounting transactions and projects Prepare reconciliations and other support during CRA and KPMG interim and annual audits

 

We would like you to have:

Education: Completion of a Post-Secondary Education either a University Degree (specializing in Finance or Accounting) or College Diploma (specializing in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting).

 

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant office/accounting work experience.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook Communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and accuracy Analytical and problem-solving skills Proactive approach Team player but working independently New Star Enterprise ERP experience is an asset
