In this role, you will be a part of the Geotechnical team for Western Canada, based in our Burnaby office. Not only will you be given an opportunity to help bring local geotechnical projects to life; but you will also have a chance to collaborate with EXP team members across Western Canada on some very large and challenging projects!
The successful candidate will be joining a well-established and diverse engineering group in Western Canada poised for growth and challenging project opportunities well into the future.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Working closely with Project Engineers/Managers and their clients, design support staff, field technical staff, and materials testing staff for projects mainly in and around, but not limited to Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley areas. For each project, the successful candidate could be involved in Project design phase deliverables such as:
Coordinating subcontractors/subconsultants, as needed, and EXP design and field staff to execute assigned projects
Conduct geotechnical site investigations
Conduct geotechnical analysis
Prepare geotechnical reports
Act as Engineer of Record (EoR), or design engineer support on project assignments
Project construction phase deliverables such as:
Support design submissions such as Issued for Permit drawings and Issued For Construction drawings, Prepare Letters of Assurance documents to Building Authority, as required
Coordinate EXP technical and field support staff
Support project construction meetings
Support technical inquiries during construction work
Conduct field reviews to support EoR quality assurance work
Prepare design memos/letters and or prepare/review Field Review Reports during construction
Project close out phase deliverables such as;
Prepare Letters of Compliance documents to Building Authority, as required
Prepare/support close out documents, as required
What your experience looks like
Bachelor’s degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering
Registration as professional engineer with EGBC
3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Project management experience
Strong technical skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail and accuracy
Team player with proven ability to work independently or as a member of project teams
Excellent organizing, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications such as MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD
Experience in engineering programs (gINT, SlopeW, MSEW, etc.)
Must possess valid driver’s license to travel to and from client office and project sites
The salary range for this role is between $92,000 to $122,000. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
