Intermediate Payroll Specialist (India Payroll)
Job Objective
The role involves ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with statutory regulations, and managing payroll-related inquiries. The candidate will work closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to maintain payroll accuracy and ensure all processes align with company policies and legal requirements. Work is performed under general supervision.

Payroll Processing:

End-to-end payroll processing for all employees in India, including salary calculations, deductions, and adjustments.

Ensure timely and accurate payroll disbursement, including bonuses, incentives, overtime, and allowances.

Compliance and Statutory Requirements:

Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including EPF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, Gratuity, Income Tax (TDS), and other applicable laws.

Stay updated with changes in payroll-related laws and regulations and ensure company policies are aligned.

Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll documentation and data.

Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees.

Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee concerns, and escalations in a timely manner.

Provide clear communication regarding payroll policies, procedures, and deadlines.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and Legal, to ensure smooth payroll operations.

Handle Full and Final Settlements for exiting employees.

Performs other duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

Good computer skills including knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP) and demonstrated proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.

Good communication skills to interface with company employees or outside vendors.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Working knowledge of payroll tax rules and benefit impacts.
