Our Roadway Engineering Team is looking for an Intermediate Traffic Engineer to join our growing downtown Toronto, ON office. Come join our team!
In this role you will have the opportunity to develop long-term career with experienced transportation professionals. You will be working with a highly functioning team and be responsible for providing traffic engineering services for a wide variety of projects. The range of opportunities will include municipal roadway and provincial highway projects, transit and rail projects, and transportation related facilities.
Working closely with our traffic engineering lead, you will have the opportunity to:
Work in a multi-disciplinary team environmentUtilize knowledge of the design requirements of various approval authorities such as Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), regions and municipalitiesConduct in-depth traffic assessments and impactful traffic analysis studies, shaping the planning and construction phases of projects.Engage in every stage of infrastructure projects - from brainstorming in the planning phase, crafting preliminary designs, to diving deep into detail design.Support preparing engineering drawings, sketches, layouts, etc.Attend internal and external meetings with multidisciplinary teams to identify issues and mitigation measures in order to satisfy approval requirements.Venture into site inspections and investigationsEngage, discuss and strategize in both internal and external team meetingsEducation | Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering is desirable.P.Eng. or eligible for & actively working towards obtaining P.Eng. certification5 years of traffic engineering experience after university graduationTech-savvy engineers with hands-on experience in traffic modeling and simulation software such as Synchro, SimTraffic, Vistro, HCS, and Vissim.Bonus points for familiarity with Aimsun, VISUM, and EMME (Macro Modelling).Proficient with MS Office toolsMethodical approach to solving problemsInitiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independentlyStrong written and verbal communications skillsSensitivity to context (e.g. understanding the traffic discipline role within multi-disciplinary projects)Company Overview:At Gannett Fleming, we believe in improving the lives of the people we serve.
