Intermediates Scheduler, Rail and Logistics Coordinator
**Phillips 66 & YOU - Together we can fuel the future** The **Intermediates Scheduler** is a crucial member of the Billings Value Chain Optimization team that collaborates with refinery, Marketing, and Commercial partners to maximize the general interest profitability of the Rockies region through strategic thinking, advanced modelling, and data analytics. This role provides excellent exposure to the entire refinery flowsheet, in particular feedstock supply, products disposition, and refining economics. The Intermediates Scheduler is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and tracking feedstock and product movements in and out of the Billings Refinery primarily focused on rail. Products included propane, butanes and coke. They will collaborate with the Billings Refinery and extended value chain team to implement improvements that optimize the performance of the Phillips 66 Rockies value chain, spanning crude oil and other input supply through to product sales. This could include economic assessments of transportation and storage options, as well as new feedstock evaluations. The position also supports the yields accounting process and provides data to internal and external parties as well as providing vacation coverage for other team positions such as the Blender / Scheduler position. After training, the Intermediates Scheduler will be responsible for maintaining the software tools utilized by the position. They will also look for ways to reduce the complexity of data handling tasks while increasing accessibility of data by making use of best available technology to drive efficiency. The Intermediates Scheduler and will collaborate with the wider refinery Technical team to support turnaround, catalyst change outs, and other activities. Additionally, there will be opportunities to learn and utilize refinery planning and scheduling tools. **Responsibilities May Include:** + Scheduling and coordinating railcar movements, loading, and unloading activities within the refinery. + Monitoring, reporting, and optimization of rail costs including fleet sizes. + Frequent communication with Refinery Operations, Phillips 66 value chain, logistics, and Commercial groups, and various customers and suppliers. + Preparation of Bills of Lading for shipments and entry of rail movement data into SAP. + Researching Federal, State, and Company rules and regulations related to rail loading, unloading, shipping, etc, and advising other Refinery departments in those areas. + Calculating railcar load volumes. + Investigating and resolving mass/volume balance anomalies to drive refinery optimization. + Implementing innovative data communication and visualization tools to provide transportation cost and yield data to refinery and value chain personal. + Collaborating with the refinery technical team to streamline and automate key planning tools and associated work processes, including: the refinery Linear Program (PIMS) and refinery scheduling tools (Orion/APS, MBO). + Collaborating to track refinery hydrocarbon receipts and shipments. + Cross-training to provide vacation relief for other optimization group positions such as the Gasoline Blender/ Scheduler position. **Required Qualifications:** + Legally authorized to work in the job posting country + High School diploma/GED + Strong Microsoft Excel skills + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to support accurate record keeping + Commitment to meet deadlines under sometimes demanding time schedules and drive continuous improvement + Willingness to take responsibility and ownership of refinery reporting obligations **Preferred Qualifications:** + 3 or more years of experience in Refining or hydrocarbon value chain + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology + Familiarity with SAP, BNSF systems, and OIS and PI software The Billings Refinery is located in Billings, Montana. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of Canadian heavy, high-sulfur crude oil delivered by pipeline, and domestic crude oil delivered by truck. With the startup of a new vacuum distillation unit in 2017, the refinery has 100 percent heavy crude processing capability. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and petroleum coke. Finished petroleum products are distributed by pipeline, rail car and truck.
