Job Title: Intern, AMS Training/Instructional Design
Location: Phoenix, AZ
What the Role Involves:
As an Instructional Design Intern, you will support the team by creating compelling learning activities and course content. Working directly with department leaders you will identify training needs, apply instructional design theories and methods, and utilize multimedia tools to enhance skill development. Ultimately, your role will contribute to the success of our employees by fostering their growth and development through well-designed and impactful instructional programs.
Work with business leaders and identify each team’s training needs
Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and skill development
Visualize instructional graphics, user interface and finished product
Conduct instructional research and analysis on employee's ability to retain and apply training information
Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, etc.)
Decide on the criteria used to evaluate employee’s performance and develop assessment instruments
Maintain project documentation and course folders
Basic Qualifications:
Must be actively enrolled in a Master's program or one-year post-graduation from a degree program with a focus in Instructional Design & Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or relevant field.
The Ideal Candidate:
Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
Lesson and curriculum planning skills
Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
Knowledge of course development software (Articulate) and at least one Learning Management System
