Intern, Applications Engineering

Job Description

The Systems Solutions Technology group has a summer Intern opening in the System Engineering group. The individual is part an overall team that research, architects, designs and builds system end products and modules using Renesas components.

Responsibilities: 

The individual is part of a team that exposes him/her to all facets of the design cycle. The candidate will participate in each phase of the project. The position requires one to research the final product/ problem, formulate thoughts and ideas utilizing their own creative juices as well as receiving inputs from peers and the product line(s) and propose a solution to the problem. It is a highly interactive role. Upon review, the project is designed, debugged and demonstrated. All of which requires participation.

The Intern will work in a lab setting programing micro controllers and system debug.  

The individual may be required to use the following lab equipment:

Qualifications
The individual considered for the position is either a new college grad or an attending student with 3 years education studying Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.  Open to candidates working on Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree.Experience with CAD design concepts for Printed Circuit design to complete simple systems designs.Familiarity with hardware design and principals (does not need to be the expert).  The project requires MCU familiarity and embedded C coding which makes use of libraries and APIs.Familiarity with Renesas proprietary FIT, FSP, PG firmware and knowledge of Eclipse (e2Studio) IDE is a plus.Familiarity with embedded device drivers for devices external to the MCU (not peripheral drivers) is a plus.
