Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Crew Systems and Planning position in Edmonton, AB from May - Aug 2025.

Job Summary

The Intern, Crew Systems and Planning is responsible for collaborating with Information and Technology (I&T), Systems Analyst, and Senior Manager to improve the optimal performance of systems, reports, and information through the enhancement of training material, dashboards and testing of new applications. The role allows the selected individual to explore the many dimensions of the systems team, learn and apply different business analysis concepts, and use their computer skills to improve CN’s programs. During the internship, the manager provides guidance and expertise throughout to ensure successful implementation of these projects. The incumbent uses their initiative and communication skills and drives for continuous improvement to ensure the project achieves the agreed upon milestones.

Major Responsibilities

Design Crew Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) dashboards in Power BICatalogue and refine the library of crew reportsCollaborate with the different program leads on the metrics for their programs and where the data is housedCollect the KPIs data for dashboarding and Power BIPrepare training material to support users in dashboard use and maintenanceParticipate in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to aid in project development, performance evaluation, and regulatory complianceContribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal teams and clientsEngage in cross-functional teamwork, sharing insights, and proposing innovative solutions to address challengesAdhere to safety protocols, company policies, and industry standards throughout the internship

Requirements

Education

Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Information and Technology Management, Business Technology Management, or Supply Chain Management
