We have an exciting opportunity for an intern on our Development Team. As an intern supporting our Heart Challenge event, you will play a key role in driving the success of this impactful campaign. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks that contribute to the planning, execution, and follow-up of these life-saving initiatives.
The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.

**Internship Overview**
Time Commitment: 20 hours per week
Internship Duration: 5/19/25 – 8/22/25
Location: **Hybrid Position - Intern must be based in Fort Worth/Tarrant County, or the immediate surrounding area.**
Salary: $23.00 per hour
**Internship Outcomes**

**Responsibilities**
**Event Planning & Support:**
+ Assist with the planning, coordinating, and executing pre-event logistics, and on-site event management for multiple community events.
**Personalized Donor Engagement:**
+ Cultivate donors of various giving levels through personalized outreach as well as in person engagement through CPR demos, health fairs, etc.
**Design Resource Library:**
+ Design (in canva) sponsorship proposals, impact reports, mission one pagers, etc. to be provided to the donor community
**Data & Reporting:**
+ Assist with pulling reports, data entry, and organizing event-related information to track progress and outcomes.
**Administrative Support:**
+ Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing printed materials, assembling thank-you cards, and organizing event supplies.
**Qualifications**
+ **Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, communications, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management.**
+ **Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.**
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
+ Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
+ Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working professionally with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
+ Effective oral and presentation communication skills.
+ Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
+ Basic knowledge of Canva.
+ **Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection and reliable transportation.**
+ **Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm. Ability to be in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday preferred.**
+ **Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.**
