Intern, Engineering & Technology

Summer internship to help with ion implantation engineering endeavors, simulation, process, and equipment.

Helps with engineering endeavor, processing, and equipment. Performs from tool qualification to wafer fabrication functions in the production of semiconductor devices. Operates equipment in performing ion implantation. Performs job function in compliance with Corporate Safety Standards and in support of the Corporate Quality Policy and key Quality objectives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Tool - Becomes familiar with ion implanters and processing equipment, with becoming certified on at least two toolsets and the associated metrology equipment. Performs and verifies equipment set-ups and qualifications on more than two toolsets without supervision. Systems - Identifies specification discrepancies and Automation problems. Production Processing - Identifies and uses necessary equipment, tools, and materials to run production processes. Resolves supply issues of support materials (test wafers, etc.). Goals and Metrics- Understands optimization of workflow and time management. Reads interpret and act on job-related charts, graphs, metrics, and specifications. Formulates a plan to meet production goals. Communication - Demonstrates effective use of written and verbal skills to communicate routine technical and non-technical information. Problem-solving and Decision Making - Participates in routine problem solving including taking steps to prevent reoccurrence. Teamwork and Leadership - Participates in Quality teams and uses 8D methods. Initiates projects and activities in a team environment. Additional Responsibilities: As assigned

Education & Experience

Prefer working towards BS, MS or PhD student working toward a degree in electrical engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields. Relevant work and/or research is preferred in the areas wafer fab device fabrication and ion implantation engineering.

Skills

Language Fluency: Fluent in English Language, written & verbal. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, energetic and self-starter. Demonstrated ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and experience in working with external constituencies. Strong organizational skills along with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business need. Individuals will be and must be able to understand complex automated systems and human interactions. Perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment. Maintain confidentiality and security of all information. Comply with current and updated policies and procedures. Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 35 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
