Intern, General Assembly Maintenance, Summer 2025

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our General Assembly maintenance and engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Allen Bradley or Siemens controls and be able to work independently and collaboratively to ensure our systems are functioning efficiently.  

Role/Responsibilities: 

Collect equipment availability data to chart departments equipment measurables.  Develop and write testing scripts for manufacturing equipment testing cases to ensure proper system functionality  Document the Preventative maintenance system integration process, including detailed steps and procedures.  Assist engineers and technicians in analyzing test results and identifying areas for improvement  Work with cross-functional teams to ensure all systems are integrated and functioning properly  Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing equipment issues and identifying root cause solutions  Communicate regularly with senior engineers and other team members to provide progress updates and receive feedback  Participate in team meetings and contribute to team projects as needed  Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing and integration activities  Work with a team of skilled tradesmen to understand the principles of manufacturing Electric vehicles. 

 Preferred Qualifications: 

Field(s) of study: Controls, electrical and mechanical engineering  Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree program at an accredited university.   Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD)   Knowledge of system testing and integration processes  Experience developing and writing testing scripts and test cases  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment 

Program Information: 

Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.  Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs. Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Casa Grande, AZ, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work. Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $34 to $48. Relocation: May be provided on a case to case basis.  Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.   Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.  Drug Screening: All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.  Medical benefits: Dental, vision, and medical on day 1 for all interns working full-time.
