You will be joining a team of patent attorneys in Hologic’s Diagnostics Division, which is based in San Diego, California. Attorneys on this team support the research, development and commercial activities for our molecular, cytology, perinatal and oncology businesses. As an intern, you will work in a capacity similar to that of an entry-level patent attorney. **Throughout the 10-12 weeks you'll have the opportunity to participate in the following:** + drafting patent claims + preparing responses to patent office communications + reviewing scientific and patent literature **You may also have the opportunity to participate in:** + reviewing agreements + conducting IP due diligence + assisting with adversarial proceedings **We're looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following:** + Able to work full-time over the summer months (May/June – August/ Sept) + **Rising second or third year law studen** t + Undergraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or engineering + Advanced degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or engineering and/or field related work experience + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Experience working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) + **Ability to work onsite at our San Diego, California campus.
