Intern, Manufacturing Controls Engineer, Summer 2025

Lucid Motors is looking for a highly motivated Manufacturing Controls Engineering Intern to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment where you will work with highly motivated teams that are dedicated to world-class quality standards on extremely challenging projects. The Manufacturing Controls Engineering interns work with cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance and Design Engineering for improving manufacturing equipment and processes throughout the entire product lifecycle. You will learn how to troubleshoot issues with electrical and mechanical systems and controls software. You will participate in creating standards and developing new equipment. 

The Role: 

Improve Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) code to make equipment easier to operate, by providing detailed data and notifications to the operator.   Interface automated equipment and manual workstations with the Manufacturing Execution System  Create detailed Manufacturing Instructions to document manufacturing processes  Review supplier designs and code for new equipment development  Create controls hardware and software standards for future equipment 

 Qualification  

Pursuing BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent  Ability to communicate topics/issues clearly with technical details and backed by data  Familiarity with commonly used electrical and mechanical hand tools  Interest in working in a factory environment on automated manufacturing equipment  Interest in learning about a cutting-edge electric vehicle, how it is made and how it works  Exemplary verbal and written communication skills 

Program Information: 

Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.  Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs. Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Casa Grande, AZ, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work. Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $34 to $48. Relocation: May be provided on a case to case basis.  Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.   Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.  Drug Screening: All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.  Medical benefits: Dental, vision, and medical on day 1 for all interns working full-time.
