What You Can Expect
Our Data Analyst Internship will be located on the University of Iowa Campus, this intern will support the team that provides distribution of chilled water, electricity, steam and water to multiple customers across our campuses. This group maintains the cabling, controls network, metering, piping, pumping, substation, tunnel and vault systems that comprise the distribution systems. These positions may also assist with development and execution of materials inventory tracking, or installed inventory, using a variety of computer programs.
This role is an immediate opportunity and is scheduled to continue until December 31, 2024.
Student may independently conduct data collection, modeling, sampling or light maintenance without direct supervision Student may assist with data analysis, modeling and recommendations for improvements to system designs, operations procedures preventative maintenance programs and record-keeping systems
Objectives:
Be able to independently identify maintenance needs in distribution systems contact the Utilities Distribution Planner to develop Corrective Work Orders. Efficiently develop and maintain results and analyses of distribution systems across campus, working at the direction of the Utilities Distribution management and planning staff to help identify, document and track distribution performance and maintenance needs. Maintain records systems. Maintain equipment inventory databases, working at the direction of Utilities Distribution management and planning staff. Inventory could be retained in spreadsheet, database, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), or ArcGIS, depending on dataset and usage. Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
Student must be enrolled in the University of Iowa Experience with Microsoft Excel (Tables, V-lookups) An academic focus on Engineering, Construction Management, business or other relevant program

The noise level in the work environment may exceed moderate.
Compensation
Hourly Range: $21.00 - $28.00 hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
