Who We Are Looking For

The Origination Intern will be part of the Commercial Origination Team and will report to the Senior Origination Manager responsible for developing Clearway’s contracting strategy with corporate and industrial customers. In general, the Origination team manages customer relationships, tracks pricing and product trends, negotiates and executes revenue contracts, and drives growth through product innovation. The intern will have an opportunity to learn from nearly 20 professionals on the team during an in-person team-wide quarterly gathering taking place the first week of the internship program, as well as through 1-on-1 meetings, and through project opportunities that overlap across regions. This position is part of the 10-week Summer Internship Program at Clearway Energy Group beginning in June 2025.

We are looking for first-year students in a graduate program with a focus and passion in sustainability, renewable energy, climate change, or related fields – and with a specific interest in helping corporates achieve their goals to transition to a net-zero economy with carbon-free energy.

What You'll Be Doing

The Origination Intern will primarily be responsible for supporting the Commercial Origination Team on various ongoing efforts and will also be assigned an individual project. At the end of the internship, the Origination Intern will present their final project to leadership.

What Would Be Nice Experience in a structured sales and marketing type role within energy or a technical field, OR interest in transitioning from a consultative, quantitative, or policy background into an Origination-focused career in the future. Proficient in producing high-quality work, utilizing executive communication skills, and developing working relationships with colleagues to ensure a successful and meaningful internship experience. The successful candidate should be a strong user of Microsoft products including PowerPoint and Excel.
