R&D Intern The R&D Intern will assist in supporting development of medical device products through project work focused on verifying specifications, designs, fixtures, test processes, equipment and helping to ensure the concepts and/or prototypes meet their requirements. Working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, Materials, Biomedical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or other related disciplines. 1. Creative, inquisitive and demonstrates a strong desire to “build” and “create” (i.e. robotics, mechanical repair, construction). 1. Demonstrated experience reading & preparing technical documentation. 1. Computer experience and skills including MS Word, Excel and CAD. Desired Qualifications 1. Strong analytical capability and organization skills 1. Coursework in 2-D/3-D drawings 1. Knowledge of SolidWorks 1. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and autonomously. 1. Knowledge of medical device materials and processes: adhesives, plastics/polymers, metals, laser-welding, laser-cutting, braiding, and lamination. 1.
