We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Summer Intern to join our Supply Chain Technical Solutions team. In this role, you will be the lead engineer responsible for developing a chatbot/AI agent to answer questions from 2,000+ users regarding the Lucid Supplier and Supply Chain Portal. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building industry-level Natural Language Processing (NLP) models and be familiar with integrating these models into cloud-based applications.

Role/Responsibilities: 

Collaborate in an agile development environment. Design and develop a chatbot/AI agent for the Lucid Supplier and Supply Chain Portal. Integrate machine learning models into cloud-based applications.

 Qualifications: 

Currently pursuing or enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree program in Computer Science (or a related field) at an accredited university. Proof of current enrollment in your degree program or acceptance into a subsequent program (MS, PhD) is required. Practical experience in building NLP models, particularly using LLM (Large Language Model) techniques. Strong understanding and hands-on experience with AI services on AWS, including model deployment and integration. Solid experience with MongoDB and vector databases. Knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team, with a collaborative mindset to drive success for yourself, your teammates, and the project. Knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes is a plus.

Program Information: 

Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.  Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs. Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work. Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $26 to $56. Relocation: May be provided on a case to case basis.  Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.   Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.  Drug Screening: All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.  Medical benefits: Dental, vision, and medical on day 1 for all interns working full-time.
