The Survivability Discipline Group is responsible for the design, analysis, performance testing and sustainment of engine susceptibility and vulnerability for Pratt & Whitney’s military engine product lines.The Survivability Discipline Group’s West Palm Beach team supports both development and fielded engine programs susceptibility through Radar Cross Section testing operations.We are seeking motivated college interns with strong technical, problem solving, and communication skills to join our team and be part of continuing Pratt & Whitney's industry leadership in current and next generation military propulsion systems.

What You Will Do

As an engineering intern you will execute a range of engineering and manufacturing activities in the design and fabrication of model engine hardware, special test equipment, or prototype manufacturing process development.Develop and document engineering designs through requirements development, supporting functional CAD design, Bill-of-Materials, and writing fabrication and assembly instructions.Provide engineering support for the manufacturing operations though out prototype fabrication, assembly, inspection, and field-testing manufacturing operations

What You Will Learn

Gain exposure and experience with the design and manufacturing of rapid prototype parts from small components through large assemblies through from a combination of conventional and additive manufacturing processes.Gain exposure to engineering processes from initial requirements definition through product field testing.Plan, analyze, design, document, and troubleshoot development hardware parts and processesEstimate, track, and report project costs and schedules.

Qualifications You Must Have

Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM fieldMinimum GPA of 3.0U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 

Qualifications We Prefer

Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearanceDesign and documentation experience using a CAD toolsetExperience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audienceRapid prototype design and fabrication experience in conventional and additive processesMechatronics software/hardware experience

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

 

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
