Project Title: Automation and enhancement of test methodology for NVMe SSD validation

Description: 

NVMe/PCIe is a new technology node in SSD (Solid State Drive) products which help to improve the performance and quality of the product. There are lots of improvement and introduction of new features in NVMe field. There are 2 projects identified which the intern will embark on when joining this team.

Big data analysis and machine learning are getting a lot of traction. There are a lot of data collected during the SSD validation which involves SSD logs, different types of performance data and system analytics. Intern to grab all these data and use the data analysis skill set to process the data to identify issues. Analyzing these data can also help to identify if the issues is related to SSD or system or script.TCG (Trusted Computing Group) is one of the features that was introduced to ensure the security of the data being stored in the SSD storage. This required multiple thirdparty certifications using their software tools to ensure the SSD is compatible with TCG spec. One of such organization/tools is Winmagic. Student will be attached to the SSD Validation team to understand the validation process and strategy and apply the experience in improving a solution to automate the Winmagic TCG test suites (recommended to use python code base). During the process student will also be introduced to different hardware like RasberyPi/Arduino, Keyboard, SSD and Motherboards. This will involve script, software system design.

Scope: 

·         Learn about SSD and its features.

·         Methodology to test the compatibility between SSD and PC.

·         Winmagic tool and the security testing on SSD

·         Programming using Python.

·         System design.

·         Automation solutions

·         Database and big data analysis

Deliverable: 

Provide a solution which can automate the Winmagic TCG testing to test the SSD compatibility.

Skillset Require: 

·         Hardware knowledge

·         Python and C/C++ coding

·         Knowledge about RasberyPi/Arduino is an added advantage.

·         Troubleshooting/Failure analysis

·         Database knowledge

·         Data analysis
