Key Responsibilities:The Internal Audit department at United Airlines contributes to and helps improve the organizations operations through audit and advisory work. Internal Audit helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, principled approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness and efficiencies of risk management and control processes. It also functions as one of the monitoring activities in the organizations control structure and provides feedback to management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors on control efficiencies, deficiencies and improvement areas in business and technology. Interns will be given meaningful projects along with the opportunity to interact with and present to leadership.
Engages in audit planning, walkthroughs, and testing procedures to achieve audit objectivesPrepares detailed work papers in accordance with established audit programs and departmental proceduresPerforms financial and IT testing procedures for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance assessmentAssists in execution of solutions to business problems using data analysis and visualization toolsProvides independent assessment, analyses, observations, and recommendations to improve operation controls and business processesPrepares written communications and audit reportsParticipates in closing meetings with clients and discuss audit results and management action plans for corrective actionsConducts cycle count observations and onsite field visitsMaintains a positive, professional relationship with staff and management at all levelsUnited values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply.
