What is Financial Crime Compliance Team responsible for?

The Financial Crime Compliance team is part of the Global Compliance department. Global Compliance has more than 100 compliance professionals located in in various countries worldwide. Our team helps mitigate compliance risks facing the company, including material loss, financial loss, or loss of reputation, as well as the possibility of regulatory sanctions that Franklin Templeton may suffer because of its failure to comply with laws, regulations, rules, industry standards and codes of conduct applicable to its activities.

FT is firmly committed to international efforts to combat money laundering and the funding of terrorist and criminal activities. We make every effort to remain in full compliance with all applicable anti-money laundering (“AML”) and anti-terrorist financing (“ATF”) laws, rules and standards adopted in the jurisdictions in which we do business. The Financial Crime Compliance team addresses Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Corruption, and Sanctions risks.

We are looking for an Intern with a keen interest in Legal & Compliance to work under direct supervision of the manager and closely with a small team of 4 analysts as well as the wider Financial Crime Compliance Group.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Intern?

Assisting with the ad-hoc, daily and monthly compliance monitoring and screening of various types of clients and other entities.

Reviewing, maintaining, and filing various types of legal and KYC documents.

Tracking and updating data.

Processing screening cases and other checks in Compliance System.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

Current student status for at least 6 months

Educational Background: Enrollment in a relevant field of study, preferably law or business administration, English or other philology.

No professional experience is required, but any relevant experience or internships would be beneficial.

Communication skills and fluency in English.

Analytical Abilities: The ability to perform research, analyze data and documentation.

Ability to work approx.. 25h per week within 8.00 am – 6.00 pm time frame.
