The Position

The position is ideal for student with curiosity about science, technology and sophisticated analytical instruments. Intern - Applications Engineer works at the intersection of the development, sales support, and the scientific community. This person continually collaborates with Applications, Technology, Systems and Software groups to ensure that system requirements are well understood, developed, integrated, and thoroughly tested.

Due to the extensive integration of hardware and software in all company products the successful Intern - Application Engineer develops detailed in-depth understanding of the application of our tools and the implications of using and testing software when complex hardware interactions are at stake.

Key responsibilities include, but are not exclusively

Participation in advanced development projectsGaining detailed knowledge of our systems with focus on applicationsTesting of workflows, new system features and solutions, reporting the resultsCollaboration with other company departments to ensure system requirements are well understood, developed, integrated, and thoroughly testedMaintaining and feeding a pool of microscopy solution expertise (technology, methodology)Contributing to scientific and other publications (papers, conference proceedings, applications notes)

Requirements

This position is ideal for student with

MSc in a technical fieldInterest in a work on SDB instrumentsExperience as an operator/user of an SEM or SDB system is an advantageKnowledge of Python or Matlab can be an advantageResult oriented, self-sufficient, ability to work under pressureStrong communication skills (both verbal and written)Active knowledge of English (>B1)
