Purpose & Responsibilities of Position:

 

The Category Specialist Intern will have the opportunity to learn more about how the Category Management in Global Procurement Organization lead and supports its business partners in Facilities, Engineering and Maintenance organizations.

 

Review vendor records and contracts. Validate for expiration date, errors or missing information, work with the internal stakeholders to get corrections made and accordingly update in the Vendor Database Management platforms. Analyze supplier spend in Eng, Maintenance and Facilities categories Assist procurement managers in updating a supplier’s pool and selecting strategic suppliers Assist in the conduct of a competitive bid and achieve the target saving Provide regular updates on status of the tasks being assigned through daily and weekly reporting Basic data management

Ability to quickly gather and analyze data, and grasp customer requirements under time constraints in a changing environment The ability to effectively manage competing priorities among the different operations, and to bring a cohesive direction to the buying teams Presentation skills necessary to professionally represent Grifols within the supplier community The ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, interact professionally with a diverse group of managers, and subject matter experts Other duties as assigned by Indirect Category team to support department initiative Candidate must be currently enrolled in 4 year degree program pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain as rising junior or senior OR currently accepted or enrolled in Master’s or PhD program Candidate must currently have GPA of 3.0 or higher Familiarity/comfort with Excel, including working with Macros and pivot tables; Microsoft word and PowerPoint
