Responsibilities:
This position supports in identifying and evaluation new capital deployment initiatives and efficiency improvements that advance the Company's growth and profitability goals. The position will also, collaborate with the team on joint interest analysis, reviews commercial agreements, and perform other special projects as needed.
A broad understanding of the downstream industry, the Company's operations and competitive landscape, as well as business planning and strong communication skills, are required, or must be acquired in order to effectively advance potential initiatives. Significant cross organizational interaction at all levels is required.
• Supports cross organizational teams regarding new business opportunities in the Marine Transportation space; evaluate the expansion of existing assets; and the purchase or sale of assets or other lines of business.
• Contributes to the proactive identification, evaluation, development and execution of recommendations and opportunities to maximize value for Marine. Regularly brainstorms ideas and opportunities; coordinates support for the preparation of economic analyses and studies to determine feasibility.
• Assist the team in assessing the impact of changing business, regulatory and political actions on the marine transportation industry, study our competitors; develop and direct actions accordingly.
• Interacts with internal organizations at all levels to analyze relevant data regarding trends, business needs and efficiencies, as well as to determine the viability of proposed growth opportunities.
• Create productive and effective relationships with key external companies and contacts.
• Provides support for the execution of ventures or business opportunities including evaluation, negotiation and development of agreements, and project planning.
• Support the team by creating and maintaining readily available information repositories and anticipates requests to support competitor assessments, macro supply/demand balances by market and product, and the performance of assets and business lines.
Qualifications:
• Desired majors are as follows: Business or Logistics; Maritime Business Administration; other related fields of study.
• Strong academic performance.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Position is available in the summer session only.
• A valid driver's license is required (travel may be involved with this position).
• Military experience a plus.
• Concurrent enrollment in a degree seeking program.
