JOB SUMMARY: Assists with projects and initiatives that improve the service performance and cost position of targeted business activities. Contribute analytical skills, six sigma tools, lean processes and fresh ideas to projects and initiatives. Assist with the engagement of distribution center leaders as a champion of continuous improvement.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Facilitate systematic problem solving, implementing solutions to solve root-cause problems.Assist with project leadership to include identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, resources, launching product teamsAssist with identifying integration issues with other projects/processes and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project leader to accomplish project goals.Facilitate processes to identify and implement initiatives/projects that reduce costs and improve services to logistics customers.Provides feedback to the leadership team regarding opportunities in current SOPs and potential changes.Collects and monitors activities to assess trends and opportunities for each business unit (DC) and provide proactive recommendations.Identifies relevant technologies that can improve operations including, safety performance.Communicates with operations and corporate leadership on opportunities and progress.Assist with establishing the measuring and tracking process for each initiative and project and provides timely reports to all stakeholders.Assists with developing synergies across all operations especially with systemwide initiatives.Learn and use lean tools and principles including value stream maps, kaizen events and 5-s reviews. Lead and/or facilitate continuous improvement kaizens at distribution centers. Prioritize kaizen and other tasks. QualificationsEducation/Certification:
In pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
