Intern Corporate Research and Development

Our interns receive hands on experience, training and the opportunity to work on a project in their specific area of study. The Research and Development Engineering internship will be focused on optimizing dielectrics of a conductor in a sealed container. Ideal applicants will be pursuing a degree in Mechanical/Power or Electrical Engineering (emphasis on Electronics). Posted position does not allow for sponsorship or relocation assistance. Project Details: + Intern would investigate the insulating effect (or lack thereof) of accumulated dust on horizontal busbars (electrical/mechanical) + Intern would be responsible for concept + Intern would be responsible for theoretical analysis/simulation + Intern would be responsible for proof of concept/prototype + Intern would be responsible for testing report Job Requirements: A successful intern at Powell will have the following characteristics: + Currently pursuing a 4 year degree from an accredited institution + Rising Junior or Senior level students continuing their studies in the fall semester + Good academic standing; minimum 3.0 GPA + Team-player, self-starter, effective communicator, & dependable + Possess multi-tasking abilities and strong inter-personal skills. + FEA experience a bonus Benefits of our program: + Team environment + Meaningful work projects + Exposure and interaction with business leaders + Fun social events + Community involvement + Scholarship opportunities Powell is unable to provide sponsorship for H1-B, F1 or OPT at this time.
